Baci Baci, a hidden gem in Serangoon

Away from the maddening traffic of Serangoon Gardnes is the homey and cosy Baci Baci tucked right in the corner of Lichfield Road (doesn’t that name conjure up images of grassy hills and blue skies?).

01 - Baci Baci

Unlike the typical over commercialized places in town, I like the quietness and warmth of the decor (which makes it great place for that romantic date and intimate gatherings) and their food is a real treat to the palate.

02 Baci Baci Pizza

We started with a half-and-half Pizza (they do accomodate requests to your preference of ingredients). I like the mix of fresh tomato paste and generous toppings of various cheeses. The crust is also not too thick, so I don’t feel too guilty about all the carbs!

03 Crab Linguini

Next up was the Crab Linguini. The pasta very light and easy. Taste-wise it was heavy on the crustacean flavor. Might not be for everyone, but if you like items like steamed crabs and clams, this could be right up your alley.

04 Bacon Carbonara

We loved the Bacon Carbonara! The rendered fat luciously coating every strand of noodle.. so yummy! Reminds of how lard oil coats bak chor mee which makes it so sinfully delicious 😀

05 Lamb rack

Finally the pièce de résistance of the night, the very lovely lamb rack done medium rare. Fatty and rich, we found ourselves gnawing each piece right down to the bone. Definitely a dish I would order again.

The biggest challenge is getting to this place (need to drive or share a cab) and be prepared to fork out along the lines of $50 per head (excluding wine).
